It's true! And I figured I'd expand on our move overseas by filling you guys in on all the details.
Basically New Zealand has been on Kevin and I's radar for a couple of months now. Back when we were both still in Missisippi Kevin got an email about a PhD position at the University of Canterbury. It's in Christchurch NZ on the south island. To be honest, I didn't take the opportunity too seriously. That's not to say that I didn't think Kevin could get it, because he's practically the smartest guy ever. But I guess it just seemed a bit too out there, ya know?
So we decided to go ahead and apply for it (along with a bunch of other jobs/places; mind you) Right around Christmas we heard back that Kevin was their top pick and offered him the job.
HOLY COW!
what?!
Could I use my iPhone in NZ??
(Just a couple of things going through my head at the time.)
So after about 2 months of thinking, talking, praying & talking a lot more, we have reached our decision to accept the job & go. I can't begin to list all of the ways that this has lined up for us. It just seems like a puzzle coming together.
Right now, we are shooting to get over there sometime this summer, but a lot has to happen before then! We've just started on the visa process (and quite a process it is).
So I hope you'll follow us on this journey we are about to embark on! I'm really looking forward to having this space to document our time abroad and everything that happens along the way :)
